American Truck Historical Society
США
Добавлен 25 окт 2013
An annual convention has been held each year since 1972, with an antique truck show, open to the public, added in 1980. These shows have grown from 23 trucks in 1980 to over 1,000 trucks, fire apparatus, buses and RV's, military and special interest vehicles. The videos posted on this channel include snippets of those conventions along with other videos produced by the American Truck Historical Society.

Great stuff!
this video seems to be from the 1940’s or early ‘50’s from the grill assemblies shown. Old Autocars never died. They were built like tanks and all steel. No fiberglass front ends. There is Autocar dump truck now working road constr in my neighborhood. Its at least 50 yrs old and runs like a clock.

Really appreciate this video. A whole lot of folks can't even begin to appreciate EVERY FACET that goes into everything that's purchased. Hopefully this will help a lot of people see and appreciate everything more. Thanks again, from an OTR driver.
That truck tried to be a train, then a railroad crossing... do the different sounds have any purpose? Did you have to sound different sounds in different situations?
Optimus Prime when he worked a stint for Mountain Dew.
Thanks David! The Convention was great
Congratulations. Look forward to your leadership. Keith
Well said, David! I'm positive you're going to do a Fantastic job ! ATHS is in great hands!
Thank you sir for taking the presidential job for ATHS,, Dennis from Wisconsin 🎉👍👍💯💯🚛🚛💨💨
Obviously Coney Island is the center of the world
What year is that movie from?
I drove milk tankers in the UK from 1977 until I relocated to the US in 1991. A lot of parallels between hauling milk in the UK and the US. Would love to sit down and talk with you about our experiences one day.
Marty, you did an OUTSTANDING job during your term. Wish I could have attended this year's ATHS convention. Looks like some incredible trucks are there.
Love it. can't wait for the busy days to come.
The exhaust manifolds on Mack V8s look small and restrictive.
Import the third world, get the third world.
I arent sure about this
Telex worked
💪
16:18 check that out. Tiny truck. Never seen that before. Amazing quality of that filming.
These trucks defines what trucking is
The sound of old Detroit disels running is music to my ears
Sweet!!
I worked for McHugh Brother's Crane Rentals in Penndel Pa. Red frames and wheels green cabs, 318 Detroit's 13 speed double overdrives with 2 speed tandems. Hendrickson RS suspension (no springs, just rubber mounting blocks). They rode rough as hell, and were noisy, but they would pull anything and were tough trucks
What happened when you spilled your wild cherry slurpee on your paperwork?
My rig, she's a little old, but that don't mean she's slow. There's a flame from my stack and that smoke's a-blowin' black as coal. Dave Dudley.
The man can drive - what a delight 💪❤️🙏🙏
What's the gas mileage on Hall-Scott 1090cid inline-6 engine? 0,1 miles per gallon?
My buddy has a 1964 needle nose pete with Detroit that he made into a milk truck ,tank. Dual stacks and sounds awesome
Sounds like this truck really did have "all the bells and whistles".
Beautiful, historical truck. But what's with the train horn, and bell??? That's, not normal.
👍🇧🇷

Neat old truck .Screaming Jimmy. It's a good thing they don't make em like that any more. Even in the cab that noise is hard on the ears. Drive one of those for a living you will certainly be deaf in 30 years.
Is it 2stroke diesel engine?
Congratulations!!! Top!!!
Donuts? What is the best donut shop in York?
That Cat 666 is some piece of equipment. The front wheels of the Cat 666 are non-driven and the same as used on the Autocar AP-40 a 40 ton off highway tandem dump truck made around 1957.
That's a very good engine. That 1,090 CID Hall-Scott is also known as the Hall-Scott 400, if I'm right. My Dad was in the Hempstead, NY VFD since 1933 and the fire company he was with was the South End (there were 4 fire houses in the Village of Hempstead) and in 1956, they bought a brand-new Ahrens-Fox pumper with engine in the center, it was a Hall Scott 400 engine just like the one in this video. Dad drove that fire truck sometimes and said you needed to double clutch it...good times!! When my Dad passed away in 1969, he had a fire dept. burial and they carried his coffin in that very truck to the cemetery. I still miss him.
Greta screaming how dare you and nobody hearing her
Sweet Ride. Reminds me of Cannon Ball.
I wore my right elbow out driving a Detroit with a 13 speed
back when people did their pretrip 🤣🤣
